algeh: Leather-free hiking boots?

I'm in the market for a nice pair of hiking boots. I've decided to get into real hiking again and tennis shoes just aren't cutting it. I'd really like to buy a leather-free pair, and I really need to try them on before committing because they have to fit my orthotics and I've found that few shoes do. I'm therefore looking for a brick-and-mortar store in Portland that would carry such a thing. I last bought a pair in the 90s at a store at Pioneer Place, but I'm guessing that there may now be better places to go (I think I bought the only pair of leather-free boots in the store - I loved them and wore them for years, though).

The other catch is that I wear a really awkward size. In women's I'm a 10WW and in men's I'm a 8EEEE. (Wearing shoes that were too narrow in the past is probably why I need orthotics now. Joy.)

Any suggestions?

I've had these a bit over a year. I'd say they're just okay. I do a lot of hiking, and the waterproofness only lasted a couple of hikes. But I've yet to find a better alternative.
